Dear Dr. Schiffer,
It’s been almost 1 year since my CED procedure and I am very pleased
with the results. Improvement was evident immediately post op, allowing
me to spend the entire next day sightseeing with my wife. Avoiding the use
of
narcotic pain meds was a huge plus since I do not tolerate their side effects.
I still cannot believe that this much simpler procedure
saved me from the more invasive level 2 cervical fusion that appeared
to be my only option before learning of your CED procedure. With fusion
surgery
I
would have been on narcotics for 2-3 weeks with severely limited physical
activity and lengthy physical therapy treatments. Why would anyone go
through a major
3-4 hour surgery with a 3-4 month recovery period when they could have
a CED and be awake, alert and walking that
same day Post op?
I have been recommending you to all of my acquaintances who have cervical
disk disease. This is one of those instances where “too good to be
true” is
a reality. My thanks to you and your delightful staff for guiding me through
a scary episode in my life and helping me return to a pain free and active
life.
